WHY HOUSTON PRODUCER'S FORUM?

Houston Producers’ Forum is best known for its monthly luncheons. These gatherings are typically held at The Petroleum Club on the third Tuesday of each month. In recent years, we have secured an impressive array of speakers including CEOs of large and small E&P and service companies, industry analysts and leading members of the financial community. We feel that the dramatic growth in our membership is directly attributable to the quality of speakers that we have been able to attract.

Porter Trimble has spent 33 years working in every engineering role in the upstream oil & gas business. After receiving a BS in Petroleum Geology from Louisiana State University, and an ME in Petroleum Engineering from Tulane University, he entered the oil and gas business during one of its worst downturns in 1986. Trimble began his career as a drilling engineer for Amoco in the Gulf of Mexico. He then joined Graham Resources working in reservoir engineering and acquisitions.

Trimble joined Merit Energy in 1992 and led its A & D efforts for 23 years. He purchased over $6B of properties during his years at Merit and was named Vice Chairman in 2009. During his tenure, Merit became one of the largest and most profitable privately held oil and gas companies in the country. In 2014, he founded Fleur de Lis Energy, LLC (FDL) to purchase oil & gas properties in the lower 48 states. In its brief history, FDL has built a diverse portfolio of world‐class assets in 3 major basins, deploying over $2.1B of capital across six transactions.
